Step by step
- 1
Warm the press, then discard the warming water. Grind 30 g of coffee coarse.
- 2
Add the coffee and 450 g of water around 200°F. Wet all the grounds and start a timer.
- 3
Steep for four minutes. Gently break the crust and skim the foam.
- 4
Press slowly without forcing the plunger. Pour all the coffee into cups or a separate server to stop it sitting on the grounds.
Taste, adjust, repeat
If the coffee is too intense, dilute the finished cup or use a little less coffee next time. If the cup tastes sharp or weak, try a slightly finer grind.
